![]() At least, commercially and critically both start with C. Why can't Srinu Vaitla have his own style of filmmaking? Yes, it'll be predictable formula cinema but what is his fault when that same formula has made him one of Tollywood's most commercially acclaimed directors. And Christopher Nolan and Steven Spielberg. Megastar Chiranjeevi in that brief appearance showcases his irreplaceable screen presence and charm and makes audience ask for more.Martin Scorcese has a style. It is a sweet and short appearance that is also impactful in the overall scheme of things. Even the sister track should be handled in a very serious way without losing the fun element but it should be more of a background thing. It would automatically elevate the dull proceedings and engage despite the predictability. So the alternative take on this film would be to get that trademark Srinu Vytla mark. One gets a feeling while watching the film that the usual energy and punch of a Srinu Vytla film are missing. The former coupled with good choreography makes songs a huge plus while the latter gives visual splendor to the film. Music and background score by SS Thaman are very good as is the cinematography. Brahmanandam fails to create any impact and Ali’s character has to be the worst spoof in Srinu Vytla’s career. Jayaprakash Reddy, Posani and Prudhvi manage to provide few chuckles here and there. Kriti Khanbanda has a better role at least on paper than her but it isn’t neatly executed to make an impact. She looks glamorous but there is nothing else happening in terms of chemistry with the actor. ![]() The same unfortunately can’t be said about heroine Rakul Preet. His funny quips with Ram Charan are all neatly done and there chemistry together as father and son is a big plus for the movie. The top most name in that list would be that of father role played by Rao Ramesh. There are a number of recognizable faces in the film but only a few have a character to speak off. Rakul Preet Singh and Other artist’s performance? It doesn’t contain the recent successful formula from the director but it’s still a formulaic fare. ![]() In the end if not for the special appearance that salvages the end to some extent, things were looking disastrous. The second half of the film falls completely flat and never quite engages. Still the first half of the film is decent and despite the predictability there is a nice build up towards the conflict. One never gets the humor that is seen in the director’s film here and even the comedy that is present looks either forced or cut short in a way to not hurt others. But the biggest problem is the lack of Srinu Vytla trademark at any point of time. The mismatch of comedy and seriousness in the narrative with a wafer thin storyline and predictable screenplay brings the film down. Once again it can be concluded that Srinu Vytla has failed a film. In terms of other skills like dancing and action, he is right up there with the best. Still there is a long way to go in terms of real dramatic performance but this for sure a good beginning. The star has improved on his comic timing and body language compared to his previous film. It is therefore an act that one can easily connect to despite no heavy duty action involved. Ram Charan has played a very active character in the film in an urban setup which suits to his strengths. ![]() What are the problems in the way and how they are overcome is what all the film is a about. Karthik’s (Ram Charan) aim is to see his father’s wish of seeing her daughter become a collector.
